LIGHTWEIGHTSTRUCTURES FOR GEOMETRICFIXTURES BY FFT

The latest development of FFT Productionsystems is a carbonfibre hybrid structure, to replace conventional steel structures used in geometrical fixtures. This enables us to reduce the weight of geometrical fixtures used in auto bodyshops , to a level, that those fixtures can be transported by conventional robots. This is interesting especially for geometrical toolsets inside the framing line. The robot handling of the lightweight tooling solves the conflict between high flexibility for multiple derivates and the footprint of a framing station.

The design of a carbon fibre light weight frame can be generated by a construction kit, with design elements implemented, inside conventional CAD software.
