Since April 2024, 8 bee colonies have been housed at our Fulda location. Each colony consists of around 60,000 bees, which are cared for and monitored weekly by a beekeeper. The bees collect nectar within a radius of up to 4 kilometers. With this initiative, we contribute to protecting bees and their habitat, as bees provide many benefits beyond honey, such as pollination of vegetables and fruits. Bees are essential for humans, the entire ecological cycle, and our nature, which we aim to protect.

As an innovative company, making a positive contribution to environmental development and electromobility is part of our corporate philosophy. By acquiring electric cars and building charging stations, we aim to make our fleet as environmentally friendly as possible and reduce our ecological footprint. In addition, at our Fulda location, we operate a 20,000 m² photovoltaic system that generates over 600 MWh of green electricity annually.

At several locations, we have set up insect hotels that provide insects with a protected habitat, nesting place, and an opportunity to overwinter. Many insects that move into these hotels are extremely beneficial to humans and nature, as they often feed on pest insects. From wild bees, bumblebees, wasps, and various beetle species to fireflies and butterflies. Great things always start small. FFT aims to contribute to the preservation of biodiversity and help protect beneficial insects from extinction with suitable nesting aids.

More sustainable projects are planned for the near future. In October 2024, a tree-planting campaign will take place in Schmalkalden. With a generous donation, FFT supports the German Forest Protection Association (SDW Thuringia). Together with our trainees, the management will plant trees to set a sign for sustainability. Forests are natural habitats. Not only do numerous animal and plant species find protection and nourishment there, but forests also offer humans a place of relaxation and retreat. As a complex ecosystem, forests help stabilize the biological balance and secure our livelihoods.

In recent years, we have launched numerous initiatives to enhance the sustainability of our company. During the 2023 EcoVadis recertification, we were able to impress with these measures and achieved a higher score, earning the bronze medal in the new EcoVadis ranking.
This places us among the top 35% of companies evaluated by EcoVadis.
