Objective:

  • To detect creeping leaks in crude oil pipelines and determine their location

Problem:

  • Creeping leaks may remain undetected for years because the oil pipelines are underground and the leakage is minimal.

  • Creeping leaks cause an ultrasonic signal, which is recorded by the FFT leak detection pig including the position
