From the file to the production plant
The commercial and technical training of FFT's industrial mechanics in Fulda takes place at WEMAG - Metallbearbeitung in Weserstraße. There, our trainer Theo Bott currently supervises twelve FFT trainees and a cutting machine operator from WEMAG.
In addition, the training workshop also offers other companies the opportunity to prepare their trainees for parts 1 and 2 of the final examination as part of joint training programs. The focus is on practical and sound training. In the training workshop, independent solutions are encouraged, approaches are tested, and mistakes are understood as a valuable part of the learning process.
“The trainees start their training at a formative time in their lives. You need a good hand to encourage, challenge, and provide targeted support,” emphasizes Theo Bott. In addition to professional qualifications, personal development is also a high priority. Teamwork is part of it from the very beginning—whether filing at the workbench, in mechanical production, or later in the assembly of large projects.
In addition to training, the training workshop makes an important contribution to the project business. “Not only are practice pieces manufactured here, but we also actively work on FFT projects,” Theo Bott continues. Urgently needed components, modifications, or custom-made products are communicated directly from the project to the training workshop and manufactured there, minimizing costs and reducing waiting times.
From the second year of training onwards, the trainees also provide temporary support for final assembly. This gives them valuable practical experience and at the same time relieves the burden on their colleagues. The young talents appreciate the trust placed in them – and are noticeably growing in their tasks.
