HANDOVER OF DONATIONS

DONATION TO THE MINT INVENTORS´ CLUB OF THE FULDA CHILDREN´S ACADEMY

Every kilometre counts! - That was the motto of this year's Rhön Energie Challenge Run. Exercising and doing something good at the same time was what spurred 152 of our athletes on.

As part of our 50th anniversary celebrations, we donated €0.50 per kilometre run to the STEM inventors' club at the Fulda Children's Academy. We want to support the young inventors with this donation.

In total, an impressive distance of 4,205 kilometres was achieved through this campaign. This distance was achieved not only by participating in the Rhön Energie Lauf event on 4 May, but also by taking part in the virtual challenge.

The kilometres run raised a total of €2,102.50, which was rounded up to €2,500 and will now be donated to the Kinder-Akademie's inventor clubs. 25 June saw the donation handed over at the Kinder-Akademie in Fulda. Ingmar Süß, Managing Director of the Children's Academy, welcomed Tristan Pfurr and introduced the Children's Academy and its current projects. Tristan Pfurr then presented the donation cheque to Mr Süß. After handing over the donation cheque, there was a guided tour of the Children's Academy.

THE FULDA CHILDREN'S ACADEMY

The Kinder-Akademie Fulda is an extracurricular educational institution and a social and cultural centre. Its declared aim is to bring people into contact with art and culture, science and technology at a young age. Organisationally, the Children's Academy in Fulda is divided into the Museum and Academy sections. Art, culture, science and technology are the exhibition themes in the museum section. The central exhibition object with supra-regional appeal is the Walkable Heart. In addition to the permanent exhibitions, special exhibitions are presented every year. Workshops are held in the academy area under the guidance of specialised staff, often with reference to the themes of the exhibitions. The academy area includes the art school with a wide range of weekly courses as well as the weekly programmes offered by the inventors' club. The Fulda Children's Academy is visited by around 23,000 children and adults every year.

THE INVENTOR CLUBS OF THE FULDA CHILDREN'S ACADEMY

The aim of the ‘Erfindrclub’ project is to get children and young people interested in the STEM subjects (mathematics, computer science, natural sciences and technology) on a broad knowledge base, to awaken creative potential, to discover gifts and talents and to promote them. The Kinder-Akademie Fulda has been striving for years to further develop the technical socialisation of children and young people.

The inventor clubs are designed for longevity and are intended to give children and young people the space to gradually familiarise themselves with more complex topics from science and technology. Thanks to the cooperation with FFT, we can continue to offer the proven concept in the usual quality.
