A successful start to working life at FFT
On 3 August, it was that time of year again: 19 apprentices, 19 dual-study students and one FOS intern began their professional careers at FFT. Their first day at work began at our headquarters in Fulda with an official welcome day, which laid the foundations for their induction.
Following a welcome from the management and the training department, the new recruits were given their first insights into our company. Managing Director Tristan Pfurr introduced FFT, its corporate values and future developments, and warmly welcomed the new recruits.
This was followed by important safety briefings. The new employees then received their workwear and staff ID cards – a symbolic step into their working lives. During a tour of the company, they familiarised themselves with their future work areas in the assembly halls and offices. In addition, informal discussion sessions provided an opportunity to make initial contacts and get to know their respective points of contact.
A varied onboarding week
The first week was all about getting to know one another, finding one’s feet within the company and preparing for the upcoming period of training and study.
A varied programme awaited the participants: alongside an FFT rally through the company, the schedule included an icebreaker bingo game, building marshmallow towers, an introduction to using laptops, and workshops on FFT processes. The various activities not only encouraged interaction amongst the participants but also fostered team spirit and creativity.
Networking event strengthens cohesion
The induction week concluded with a cross-site networking event. This brought together all apprentices and dual-study students from Fulda, Mücke, Eisenach and Schmalkalden. The event provided an opportunity to make new contacts and learn from the experiences of trainees and students who had been with the company for some time.
Together, the participants set off on a hike of around four kilometres to the Körbelshütte near Bimbach. Upon arrival, they were able to refuel with cold drinks and a buffet. Afterwards, mixed teams competed against each other in various games. The focus was primarily on teamwork, communication and mutual support. With great enthusiasm and a sense of fun, the groups competed for victory, experiencing first-hand the team spirit that plays a central role at FFT.
Preparing well for the future
Before their day-to-day work really gets underway, the new junior staff can look forward to a comprehensive induction programme over the coming weeks. In addition, they will take part in training courses at the BBZ Mitte to ensure they are fully prepared for their apprenticeship and studies.
