The electrode cap changer is a sophisticated solution for automated cap changing in robot-guided welding processes. With a clear focus on efficiency and process reliability, it enables time-optimised and fully automatic changing of electrode caps without the need for intervention by operating personnel.
Thanks to its compact design, the changer combines minimal space requirements with optimal accessibility for the robot. This facilitates integration into existing production cells and offers maximum flexibility in plant planning. A particular advantage is that the electrode caps can be changed one after the other without reorienting the welding gun – a significant contribution to reducing cycle times and increasing productivity.
The cap magazine is mounted in exactly the same orientation as the changing tool itself, which further simplifies and speeds up the changing process. Inductive sensors continuously monitor the status of the system: they detect both the fill level of the magazine and the status of each individual cap with the signals ‘cap present’ or ‘cap removed’. This ensures precise and reliable process control.
Electrode caps that are no longer needed or are worn out are automatically directed into a collection basket after being removed. This system ensures clean and safe disposal of old parts without interrupting the production process and serves to optimise your production.
