FFTmetrology CheckThrough Material defect detection with our transmitted light system
The transmitted light system is used for precise image processing to detect the smallest material defects such as cracks, the finest perforations and material tapering. The concept is based on stable and reproducible inspection conditions.
During the inspection, the component to be inspected is held flat and aligned as precisely as possible to ensure consistently high inspection quality. Illumination is provided by a homogeneous surface light from below, allowing even the smallest irregularities in the material to be visualised.
The entire test takes place inside a light tunnel. This controlled environment minimises external interferences such as extraneous light and ensures constant recording conditions. One or two commercially available industrial cameras are used to take the images, allowing perforations to be recognised quickly and reliably.
The system has already been extensively tested under laboratory conditions and a corresponding test setup is available. Wide-area lighting and a flexibly configurable enclosure for the test centre ensure outstanding stability and enable adaptation to different requirements.
FFTmetrology CheckThrough Process sequence of the transmitted light system
1. infiltration and measurement
The test specimen is transported to the transmitted light test via an automatic conveyor line. The test specimen is placed in the transmitted light unit by means of an automatic drawer. The transmitted light illumination is activated and the image is captured.
2. quality visualisation
Perforations and cracks are displayed on the screen. Even the smallest defect is clearly displayed in colour.
3. link with PLC
The results (IO, NiO) are sent to the PLC and stored in a database.
4. quality report
The software can be used to analyse the recorded results using various statistical methods.
